BLESSED ARE THE MERCIFUL

MRS. MURTAUGH'S KINDERGARTEN CLASS

we are all wonderfully made

SPRING HAS ARRIVED! The daffodils are blooming and the birds are singing! As we celebrate EASTER we shout  “ALLELUIA!”  and thank God for the gift of Jesus.

CONGRATULATIONS TO KB! The children continued to spread God’s Mercy during Lent by working hard on chores and being helpers at home. They earned over $250.00 for the Missions. God bless you all for putting your faith into practice!

Kindergarten returns to school after a month filled with exciting activities. We celebrated Albert Einstein’s birthday, and our wonderful Green Eggs and Ham Breakfast to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and Dr. Seuss’ birthday. Puzzles, games, mazes, gross motor and problem solving activities helped our brains develop new dendrite connections during our celebration of BRAIN WEEK.

In RELIGION we drew pictures for our RCIA friend welcoming him into our Church Family. We will continue to learn about the MASS- We Pray, We Sing, We Listen, and We Celebrate Jesus in the Holy Eucharist.

Spring is the perfect time to learn about our READING UNIT– “It’s A Big, Bright, Beautiful World”. In ILA, SCIENCE, and SOCIAL STUDIES  we will read many fun fiction and non-fiction stories to help us learn about pond animals, insects, plant life, weather patterns, and map skills. Using our sight words and blending our sounds will help us read and write about these fun topics.

It has been fun in MATH using non-standard units to estimate, measure, and weigh objects. It amazed us that objects were heavier or lighter than they seemed! We are now measuring time and will use our counting skills to identify coins and make amounts to 20 cents using pennies, nickels, and dimes. It will be good practice to get ready for our Class Store in May. There will be lots of fun items to “buy”!

As we move on through this glorious EASTER season watch us as we continue to bloom and grow!
