Mrs. McHale’s Third Grade Class

Embrace God's Universe

“You have brains in your head.

You have feet in your shoes.

You can steer yourself

Any direction you choose.

You’re on your own.  And you know what you know.

And YOU are the guy who’ll decide where to go.”

Dr. Seuss

“More on the floor? Go next store, and get 10 more!”  This is one of the little chants the students say when we are subtracting with regrouping.  Their regrouping skills are amazing!  Please practice basic subtraction facts at home, as we are also practicing them in school.

Advent seasons is here!  We will be preparing for Christ’s first coming in many ways.  3A will be writing a nativity puppet play.  The students will be broken into 5 different scenes.  Each scene will write their own script and “act” it out during our performance.  Another way our class will be preparing is by doing Random Acts of Christmas Kindness.  Each child is asked to perform at least one act each week and reflect on it in their RACK packet.

The spelling words for this week are homophones:  whole and hole, its and it’s, hear and here, one and won, our and hour, their and there, fur and fir, rode and road, peace and piece.
