Please be patient with all involved in the transportation of the children. Buses are expected to arrive at SJA by 8:17. Some bus routes have been changed this year, please be sure to check your child’s enclosed bus slip.

KINDERGARTEN SCHEDULING/TRANSPORTATION

All kindergarten students who are ½ day will go to school from 8:20 to 11:30 am. Busing is provided to and from school for all qualifying students. IMPORTANT: When the school is on a half-day schedule (faculty meetings, etc.) all kindergarten students (including those on a ½ day schedule) will go to school until 12:30 pm. When the school is on a half-day schedule, the kindergarten ½ day students are to take the bus home from school that they normally take to school. This schedule includes their first day of school. All parents are asked to please notify your child’s teacher, in writing, if at any time he/she will not be going home on the bus.

CAR RIDERS

All car riders are to enter from Willow Bend Road. THE DRIVEWAYS ON

EVANS ROAD ARE FOR BUSES ONLY.

CLASS ASSIGNMENTS

All students will receive their class assignments on the first day of school. Children in grades Kindergarten and First Grade are to wear a name tag with their name, grade and bus letter on it. Half day kindergarten students should have their 11:30 am dismissal bus letter and also the bus they would ride home on a 12:30 dismissal.

Faculty member and older students will be available to assist students when they arrive at school. If your child is a bus rider, we strongly suggest that he/she ride the bus starting with the first day of school. That allows the bus driver to get to know your child and his/her stop. It also allows your child to become familiar with the regular routine. If your child is a car rider, please bring your child to the designated area (Willow Bend Road entrance). Grades 1-8 will go directly to “A” classrooms to receive homeroom assignments. Grade K will report to Pedata Hall to receive their classroom assignments. There will be a social gathering for kindergarten and all new parents on Friday, September 10, in Pedata Hall immediately following classroom assignments. Please follow the directions of the PTA to allow for a smooth transition for the kindergarten children.

SCHOOL UNIFROM/GYM UNIFORM

All students are expected to be in school uniform on the first day of school. Uniforms are to be purchased from Flynn & O’Hara. Gym uniforms are from Coaches Choice, 33 N. Locust Avenue, Marlton. Students need gym uniforms the week of September 13.

CONGRATULATIONS

Mrs. JoAnn Rocca has made a decision to retire from her teaching ministry of many years. We will certainly miss her and the many ways she empowered the children in her care. The good news is she promises to be back to visit and volunteer. Presently, Mrs. Rocca is responsible for a few family members who are in need of assistance in numerous areas. Please pray for her during this time of transition. We wish her God’s blessings now and in the future.

Mrs. Kelly Jones, our present 3rd grade teacher, will be moving to second grade. Mrs. Ann Bloss, our long-term substitute of two years will fill the third grade position.

BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL CARE PROGRAM

If you plan on using this service in September students must have a registration form on file accompanied by the $25.00 registration fee.

Once again I congratulate you for choosing St. Joan of Arc School for your child/ren. As the 2010-2011 year unfolds may we discover ways to be Shaped into Disciples. See you at the Carnival. Let’s pray for good weather!

God’s Blessings,

Sister Pat
