Six Steps to
Succeed in Sixth Grade
1. Go to school. If you must be absent
for any reason, make sure to ask your peers or myself to find out what was
covered. Then, complete the missed work and turn it
in.
2. Get organized. Take time to plan your daily schedule: homework,
tests, and after school activities.
3. Spend time reading books and magazines
outside of class. Knowledge is
power!
4. There will be opportunities
for extra credit. It's important to go the EXTRA
mile.
5. Speak up if you think you're falling behind. Please take advantage
of extra help during lunch or review games.
6. Do your homework. Complete the easiest tasks first to build confidence OR use your brain
power to complete the hardest assignment first. Whichever works best to
help you succeed!
God Bless,
Miss Lauria, M.A.
EDUCATION CONNECTION
Students are making connections with Social
Studies, ILA, & Art. We are currently exploring Greece and how
the ancient Greeks created great myths to explain the world. Greek
literature lives on and influences the way we speak and write today! Students
just read Phaethon, a Greek myth, and they will
be using their cartooning skills to create a comic strip that tells the
story.
